After our family navigated the emotional challenges of our daughter’s dyslexia, including the tears, anxiety, and two years of dedicated tutoring, I became deeply committed to supporting other families facing similar difficulties. I vividly recall how overwhelming it can feel when a child struggles with reading and how daunting it is to navigate the vast amount of information available while searching for the most effective solutions.
I pursued specialized training and became a Certified Structured Literacy and Dyslexia Specialist to better support children in overcoming their reading challenges and achieving reading proficiency. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and am a Certified Structured Literacy and Dyslexia Specialist through the accredited Slant System. This Orton-Gillingham-based approach provides a structured, multimodal, and explicit pathway to mastering reading and writing. I am also certified by the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist (C-SLDI).
My passion is helping children achieve lasting reading success. I would be delighted to support you and your child on this journey!
Warmly, Michelle
